Comments
When visitors leave comments on blog posts, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string — this helps us detect spam and keep the community safe.
An anonymised string (also called a hash) created from your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to display your profile picture. Gravatar’s policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After a comment is approved, your profile picture becomes visible next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and extract any GPS location information from images on the website.
Cookies
Account & cart cookies: WooCommerce sets cookies to keep your cart contents and remember log-in. These last for up to 14 days.
Analytics cookies: We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation. These cookies last up to 14 months.
Consent cookies: The Complianz plugin stores your cookie preferences so you don’t have to set them again for one year.
You can change or withdraw consent any time using the green “Privacy Settings” button in the page footer.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles or pages may include embedded content (e.g. YouTube videos, Instagram images). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website and may collect data about you, use cookies or monitor your interaction with that embedded content. We never sell or rent your personal information.
Data security
We store all website data on secure, ISO-certified servers provided by Hostinger and restrict admin access with two-factor authentication.
How long we retain your data
Comments and their metadata are stored indefinitely so we can recognize follow-up comments automatically.
WooCommerce order records are kept for 7 years for accounting and tax requirements.
Abandoned carts are cleared after 14 days.
Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you (except data we are obliged to keep for legal or security reasons).
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service (Akismet).
Certain technical data is routed through our content-delivery network (QUIC.cloud) so that pages load quickly wherever you are in the world.
